“Strong Woman. Proud Woman.” came from Paulina going through a tough time, getting kicked out of the house after graduating, going through a break up.. Mental health took a beating. She loved reading “A Portrait of Dorian Grey”, so the idea of a portrait being able to absorb the negative was very appealing at that time.

The drawing is paired with Rosie Lowe’s song “Woman”, which was being played by Paulina on repeat at the time.
